The Sparkle Dun is a dry fly meant to be fished on the surface water. This fly imitates an emerging aquatic insect shedding its nymphal exoskeleton.
This was my first attempt at tying a dry fly pattern. They can be tricky to tie due to the deer hair being unstable on the shank of the hook.
This fly was surprisingly easy to tie. If you are new to tying and are looking for a solid dry fly patter, I suggest this one.
